Here are 5 Ways to Add Laughter to Your Life
1. Take Time to Laugh: Ecclesiastes 3:1 “1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: vs. 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;”
Prayer: You are next in line to dance this month in Jesus’ name.
Life is filled with difficult trials. But then, the Bible declares there is “a time to laugh.”
2. Share Joy: Proverbs 17:22 “22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Don’t keep joy to yourself. Share the “good medicine” of a joyful heart with others.
Proof the devil wrong. Your future is bright. Have you brought joy or laughter to someone today? If not, think of a way you can make one person laugh. It’ll bring joy to both of your hearts.
3. Lighten Your Load: Feeling burdened today? Ask God to lighten your load. Matthew 11:28 “28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Luke 6:21 “21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. —
Have you ever been so sad that you thought you’d never laugh again? God will bring you comfort and inner peace even as you struggle with a heavy heart.
Being “blessed” is about experiencing hope and joy regardless of circumstances.
Psalm 30:11 “11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;”
4. Don’t Be Afraid to Laugh at Yourself: Genesis 21:6-7 (NIV) “6 Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” 7 And she added, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
Abraham’s wife, Sarah, waited 90 years to become a mother. Thinking there was no way she could become a mother. This month you will be pleasantly surprised by God’s timing in Jesus’ name.
5. Expect Great Things: Psalm 126:2 “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.”
When God led His people out of captivity and brought them back to their homeland, they were so relieved and thankful that they laughed and shouted for joy. After spending 70 years as captives, one of the first things they did was build an altar and worship God.
