Psalms 68:1-2 “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.”

Introduction: The word “arise” in spiritual terms could mean: to prove oneself, to defend, to justify, to put to an end, or to condemn.

Therefore, when we call on God to arise, we are simply saying that:

-God should prove Himself in a particular instance, or to defend us, to justify us, or put an end to what we don’t want in our lives.

-It is also a request for God to do something very special in our lives because of our limited power, ability or resources.

Prayer: God will do something concerning your situation today in Jesus’ name.

Why Should God arise?

-So that the enemy will not have the last laugh! Job 12: 4 “"I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called on God and he answered-- a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!”

-So that we can have much needed chance to succeed.

-So that our homes or relationship will be scattered by the forces of darkness. (strange men/women)

-So that our dreams, visions and glorious futures will not be negatively affected by the powers of darkness.

Prayer: May God arise on your behalf today in the name of Jesus Christ (amen).

What happens when God arise?

When God arise and checkmate the sinners, there is nothing He cannot do.

-The ground may be opened and swallowed up our enemies. Numbers 26: 10 NIV “The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them along with Korah, whose followers died when the fire devoured the 250 men. And they served as a warning sign.”

-The unrepentant nations can be destroyed by God. Jude 1:7 “7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

-The captives will be set FREE. Acts 16:25-26 “25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.”

Prayer: Whoever is the captive of the mighty, the Almighty God would set him/her free today in the name of Jesus Christ.

-He would cause our enemies to bow or submit to us. Psalm 66:3 “Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.”

*Your enemies would receive adequate compensation for their act of wickedness committed against us.

-His enemies would be scattered.

-He silences any opposition and brought their support to kneel.

Prayer: May God arise on your behalf and arise against every contrary winds to your life and purposes in the name of Jesus Christ (amen).
